My name is Hector Leon, I’m a self-taught artist from Orlando, Florida. By contrast, in between my artistic periods I work as an aircraft mechanic for a major airline. Throughout my youth, artistic expression was a therapeutic tool that I would turn to, as an escape from reality. In my mid twenties I moved to New Jersey, which gave me the opportunity to visit many of the great art museums and galleries in New York city like: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Brooklyn Museum, and The Guggenheim. This exposure ignited within me a desire to learn the fundamentals of creating art and to study the great artist of the past and present. I've always had a natural curiosity for the human condition, the mind, human suffering, and the meaning of life; so much of my work revolve around these issues.
